Still Summertime

Still hot and muggy in the heart of Illinois. Road crews are keeping the roads from bleeding through onto our cars. You all know no one likes that tar on our undersides. They are always working here and there, so take it slow on those country roads, especially on curves and those little hills. Any issues, always call and talk to the Road Commissioner.

We have money available for help with shut offs and eviction notices. We always assist with indigent (usually single people who are really struggling, in between income situations, and need help to maintain a place to live). We also help with Emergency Situations once every 12 months up to $350 a year and up to $900 in a 4 year period. We classify an Emergency Situation as a shut off of a necessary utility or an Eviction due to behind, non-payment of rent. The payment of such by our department must remove the Emergency Situation for a total of 60 days also.

Taxes are due this month. Any questions on your assessment, call the township assessor.

Until next time, stay cool.
