Again, beware of trucks, farmers, and road workers this summer. As you come up over a hill, beware please.
As a township, we are in charge, legally, of administering the General Assistance program. We also administer an Emergency Assistance program that can help alleviate a life-threatening situation. Applicants have to meet income guidelines and other program requirements based on their situation. Assistance must be obtained from the township in which the applicant presides. You can print an application from the Supervisor's page and call for an appointment time at 217-935-2506 to speak with Lori Evans.
Anyone is welcome to call to come in and speak with us about what we do at the township, whether it be questions for the Road Commissioner (I've learned an AWFUL lot about roads since I have worked with the township), questions about how assessments are figured, or about the township's budget or General Assistance program. We are here to serve the community to make it a better place to live, work, and play.
